Community Engagement Resident
This unique position is for someone who has a heart for families facing difficult times. In exchange for free room and board in a private room, this person will be on-site nightly as a staff presence serving as the house parent.
Responsibilities:
Safety and Well-being: Help ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff within the Life's River community.
Community Environment: Cultivate a sense of community by fostering interpersonal relationships with our residents and creating a homelike and hospitable environment.
Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve conflicts among residents to maintain a harmonious living environment.
Communication: Act as a liaison between residents and staff, conveying concerns, suggestions, and feedback to enhance the overall community experience.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to assist in emergency situations, responding appropriately, ensuring residents are informed of emergency procedures, and contacting appropriate parties.
Residential Oversight: Assist in maintaining order in communal spaces, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to community guidelines.
Positive Role Model: Exemplify positive behavior and attitudes to inspire and encourage residents in their journey toward stability.

Responsible and Reliable: Demonstrate responsibility and reliability in fulfilling duties and commitments.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships within the community.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
Empathy: Display empathy and understanding towards the challenges faced by families experiencing housing insecurity.
Flexible Schedule: Be available on-site during designated hours. Expected to be onsite, overnight, 7 nights per week except when prior arrangements have been made and approved (not expected to stay awake through the nights).
